This piece from Givenchy’s Autumn/Winter 2009 collection carries the unmistakable tension and elegance that defined the house during Riccardo Tisci’s tenure. The asymmetrical construction and directional stripes feel very much of that moment - when Tisci was sharpening Givenchy’s identity into something darker, more architectural, and fiercely modern. Even in knitwear, he had a way of introducing a sculptural sensibility, using pattern and line to contour the body rather than simply decorate it.
